Chicago Rainfall Makes First Half of 2013 Wettest on Record
All the recent downpours have set a record for the first six months of the year for the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service.
From Jan. 1 to the end of June this year, the area has been inundated with 28.46 inches of rain, The Chicago Tribune reported July 1.
It’s the wettest first six months of the year on record since 1882, officials said. The number topped the entire rainfall for all of last year, officials said.
