Harris County Toll Road Director Talks About Why Rates Are Increasing
Drivers on Harris County toll roads will see a rate hike starting Sept. 7, KUHF.com reports.
EZ tag users at toll plazas will see a nickle increase, while drivers on the Katy Freeway Managed Lanes could be paying up to two dollars more per trip. KUHF Transportation Reporter Gail Delaughter talked about the toll hikes with Harris County Toll Road Authority Director Peter Key.
Key says, “The Toll Road Authority in Harris County has a system of toll rate increases annually that essentially track inflation that we see in the local economy. And so, on an annual basis, certain toll rates get adjusted.”
